Transparency International Georgia would like to present a policy brief titled ‘Why Georgia Needs an Independent Anti-Corruption Agency’ prepared as part of a project of the Open Society Georgia Foundation.
The Parliament of Georgia has supported legislative amendments on the creation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in three readings.

Transparency International Georgia has been sounding the alarm about the increasing problem of high-level corruption in the country for years.
On November 17, 2022, the Steering Group of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Anti-Corruption Network (OECD/ACN) endorsed the OECD/ACN Fifth Round Monitoring Assessment Framework, which will examine the anti-corruption environment in OECD/ACN member countries.

Donations statistics From January 1 to September 30, 2022, all political parties in Georgia received 1,944,073 GEL in donations, of which 666,000 GEL (34%) went to the ruling party, the second place is "Conservative Movement" ("Alt-Info") with 393,611 GEL, and the third - "Lelo for Georgia" with 370,600 GEL.
In January-September 2022, Georgia received about 2.2 billion USD in income from Russia through remittances, tourism, and the export of goods, which is 2.6 times more than the income received from Russia in January-September 2021 from the same sources. This number by 64% exceeds the income received from Russia in January-September 2019, before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the years 2013-2021, persons with links to the Georgian Dream and serving in public office, as well as their family members – 39 natural/legal persons in total – purchased land with an area of 129,775 sq. meters, which was put on 54 electronic auctions, for GEL 7,725,685. Out of this, 75% (97,417 sq. meters) of the alienated land was sold without competition, after only one bid, for GEL 2,938,300.
