A brief assessment of changes in election legislation

 On June 28, the Parliament of Georgia adopted the amendments to the Electoral Code, aimed at improving the electoral legislation. The working process lasted for several months and the final version of the document also reflected the provisions of the agreement between the political parties (the so-called Charles Michel Document).

On resignation of the CEC Chairperson

 Today, it became known to the public that Tamar Zhvania resigned from the position of the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia on the basis of her own request. We believe that this decision can significantly contribute to increasing confidence in the election administration and the electoral process during the 2021 local elections.

The Coalition Reacts to the Competition of Supreme Court Judicial Candidates

 The Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary calls on the Parliament to elect Supreme Court judges based on a political consensus between the parliamentary majority and the opposition, otherwise, to refrain from making a decision regarding this issue until a fundamental justice reform is implemented.
