TI Georgia’s Observation Mission and Press Conferences

01 October, 2012

Transparency International Georgia has registered 420 local and 56 international observers for the parliamentary elections. The international observers are representatives from TI Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Our stationary observers are allocated in 300 polling stations and cover 63 out of 73 electoral districts. Polling stations were selected randomly. In addition to stationary observers the electoral process will be monitored by 36 mobile groups. Our mobile groups will pay special attention to so called problematic stations; a list of such stations was created from information provided to us by media outlets and political parties.

TI Georgia will present our evaluation of the continuing electoral process three times during the Election Day. We will host Press Conferences at the NGO Media Center (Kobuleti Nr. 34/36 at the corner with Mtskheta street, 4th floor) at 11:00, 14:00 and 22:30 on October 1. We will present a further report on our overall evaluation of the Election Day at 14:00 on October 2.
