Judge Zviad Sharadze concealed his wife's real estate in his asset declarations and received 120,000 GEL as a gift from his parents

12 April, 2024

Tbilisi City Court judge Zviad Sharadze, who sentenced Lazare Grigoriadis to 9-year imprisonment on April 12, 2024, received 120,000 GEL from his parents as a gift and concealed 4 plots of land registered in his wife's name in his asset declarations.

It is noteworthy that Zviad Sharadze also tried the Cartographers’ case in 2020. This year coincides with his receipt of a substantial gift from his parents, as well as his wife registering four plots of land.

Gifts From Parents: Zviad Sharadze and his wife received more than 120,000 GEL as gifts from his parents over the period of 7 years. The majority of these gifts, totaling 108,129 GEL, were received by Zviad Sharadze in 2019, following his transfer from the Telavi District Court to the Tbilisi City Court.

Concealed Real Estate: Zviad Sharadze has not disclosed his wife's 10,425 sq.m. land plots in his last three asset declarations:

The date of registration of concealed real estate and receipt of a large gift suspiciously coincides with Zviad Sharadze's 2020 judgeship of the politically motivated Cartographers’ case. We call upon the investigative agencies to take an interest in the case. Furthermore, we call on the Anti-Corruption Bureau to study Zviad Sharadze's declarations.
