How transparent and comprehensive is the website of the Vani Municipality

27 February, 2018

TI Georgia continues to conduct studies on proactive publication of public information by municipalities. This time we present the results of the Vani Municipality.

The study conducted in Vani has revealed the following circumstances:

  • The Town Council (Sakrebulo) of Vani established the procedure of proactive publication of public information for the Vani Municipality by Ordinance No. 5, which was adopted on February 4, 2016;
  • The Ordinance is in line with the requirements of Ordinance No. 219 of the Government of Georgia, which establishes a high standard of proactive publication of public information;
  • However, the information posted on the common website of the Town Hall and the Town Council (http://vani.gov.ge/) does not correspond with the list of information to be published proactively as defined by the Ordinance.

See detailed data on the types of information published on the common website of the Town Council and Town Hall of Vani in the tables below

TI Georgia calls upon the Town Hall and Town Council of Vani to eliminate the said problem in a timely manner, to fulfill the obligation undertaken by Ordinance No. 5 that was adopted on February 4, 2016, and to ensure that the information is uploaded fully to the official website. The organization also believes that in order to ensure more transparency, the Town Hall and Town Council of Vani should create separate websites.
