Police representatives of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the Georgian Dream party, acting as violent groups, physically assaulted not only citizens present at the protest site but also individuals on nearby streets. They abducted people and subjected them to physical abuse on the spot.

We call on Bidzina Ivanishvili to end the persecution of Georgian citizens and end the use of state institutions for repressive purposes.

These actions, inhumane treatment and torture of detainees, constitute violent repression and, in their scale, represent gross violations of human rights. Such actions against citizens are condemned by the global democratic community.
