Non-governmental organizations request to be included in the process of developing the National Action Plan of the Association Agenda
On participation of the civil society in the process of developing the 2018 National Action Plan for the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Association Agenda
Dear Mr. Janelidze,
In 2017, Parliament of Georgia passed a package of legislative amendments on structural reorganization of the government. As a result of these amendments, the Office of the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration was incorporated into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
We would like to emphasize the productive cooperation that has developed between the civil society on the one hand and the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration on the other. As a result of this cooperation, we, the representatives of the civil society, had an opportunity to participate in the process of elaboration of the Action Plans for the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Association Agenda and the development of the 2017-2020 EU-Georgia Association Agenda.
We hope that, after the structural reorganization of the government, this cooperation will grow even closer, based on the pre-existing experience.
We would like to request that the civil society representatives are given a possibility to participate in the process of developing the 2018 National Action Plan in the following directions: the system of justice, work of law enforcement bodies, combating corruption and civil service reform, human rights and basic freedoms, torture and degrading treatment, equality, children's rights, the rights of professional unions and basic standards of labour, and environment.
We, the undersigned organizations, are open to cooperation and will wait for the establishment of the working format and the assignment of a corresponding contact person from your agency.
