1. What is TI Georgia's mission?

   TI Georgia's mission is to serve as the primary source of information for both the government and the broader public on corruption and reform in Georgia, to work with the Georgian Government and other organizations to limit the discretion of government officials, to build and strengthen institutions, and to facilitate reform in sectors where corruption exists. It's goal is to ensure that potential and actual institutional and legal sources of corruption are identified and that change is rapidly implemented within the government using domestic and international support.

2. What are TI Georgia's goals?

   TI Georgia's goals are to:

   • increase access of local populations to information on corruption and on reform;
   • establish programmatic activities that target structural corruption in specific sectors;
   • offer policy recommendations to the Georgian Government based on feedback and analysis;
   • assist the Government in drafting carefully constructed policy;
   • encourage input on reform from local and international experts;
   • produce analysis and public policy on current activities and on future reform;
   • offer preventive measures for corruption;
   • improve not only the implementation of laws, but the quality of the laws themselves.
3. How is TI Georgia organized?

   TI Georgia's activities are carried out by its Executive Office. The Executive Office is composed of Executive Director, Development Manager, Program Directors, Program Assistants, Public Relations Coordinator, Analysts, Lawyers and an Office Assistant. It is involved in designing and carrying out TI Georgia's program activities, fund-raising, and internal and external communication.

5. Does TI Georgia investigate individual cases of corruption?

   In the past TI Georgia did not handle individual cases of corruption; its goal was not to concentrate on specific instances, but to identify the sources and reasons of corruption and propose preventive mechanisms for combating structural corruption. TI Georgia believes that it is the right and proper place of institutions such as the media, police, prosecutors and auditors to expose and investigate individual acts of corruption, although TI Georgia is committed to provide its assistance in these efforts. However, with the advent of ALAC [1], TI Georgia now facilitates the resolution of individual cases of alleged corrupt.

   The Anti-corruption and Legal Advice Center (ALAC) [1] is designed to assist citizens in resolving corruption related problems.

6. Is TI Georgia a Georgian or an international organization?

   TI Georgia is a Georgian organization. It was founded and operates in accordance with the Georgian legislation. The same time TI Georgia is a member of Transparency International [2], global anti-corruption movement, which unites over ninety independent chapters throughout the world.
