TI Georgia has developed a new wiki website: www.transparency.ge/candidates which serves as a space for Georgian citizens to learn more about politicians running against each other for 73 majoritarian seats in Parliament at the beginning of October.

Illegal Deal Between the NGO Georgia Not for Sale and the Ruling Party

On August 20, 2012, the founder of the NGO Georgia Not for Sale, Giga Nasaridze, announced on behalf of the organization that they would produce election-themed videos for any party who shares their political views. Nasaridze also stated that the United National Movement had already responded to this initiative, and had agreed to receive free videos from the organization.

Pre-Election Violations

 Transparency International Georgia is carrying out monitoring of pre-election processes. There are some evidences revealing different kinds of violations of the election code during the pre-election period (from August 1). The relevant government bodies have reacted on two violations but there are still some facts which should be investigated.

Why has the website www.metisargebeli.ge been abolished?

 On 30th August 2012, Transparency International Georgia disclosed the fact that some of the ruling party’s promotion videos had been placed on the website of the governmental program ‘More Benefit to People’, metisargebeli.ge.
