Statement concerning the dismissal of employees from public institutions after parliamentary elections
The October 2012 parliamentary elections resulted in a change of government in Georgia. Following this significant event, changes have taken place, and are still ongoing in the public service sector throughout the country. While it is natural that reform and reorganization will occur as a new government takes office, in many instances these processes seem unjustified.
Like almost everyone in Georgia, we have a lot of questions about what will happen over the next few months as power transfers to the Georgian Dream.
A statement about the ongoing electoral processes (14:00 – 22:00) According to the information provided by our observers, the following types of irregularities have been revealed during the day:
Transparency International Georgia sent a total of 420 local and 56 international observers to monitor the recent parliamentary elections. The international observers were representatives of Transparency International’s chapters in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
